Caring for your woodwork
We recommend regular maintenance for all your wooden furniture: once or twice a year, depending on your environment. With a minimum of maintenance, you can keep your furniture in perfect condition for many years to come!
What equipment should I use?
- CYRIA Natixt© Cleaner
- Nylon wood brush
- 80-grit sandpaper
- Electric sander
Cleaning your wooden furniture:
- When carrying out maintenance work, protect steel parts from contact with cleaning products.
- To degrease your wooden element, spray with Natixt© Cleaner and scrub with a suitable brush if necessary.
- As far as possible, try to respect the natural direction of the ribs.
- Rinse thoroughly to remove excess product.
- Avoid using high-pressure cleaners, as they can damage the surface of your furniture.
Sanding a wooden surface:
- If, after cleaning, you notice any roughness on the surface, simply remove it by sanding lightly with 80-grit sandpaper.
- If the surface roughness is greater, you can use an electric sander. In this case, always sand horizontally and in the direction of the wood.
- Always prefer a dry day for this type of operation.
How to avoid premature wear?
- Note that the most significant deformations and changes in appearance generally occur in the first year. To avoid or limit cracking, be sure to tighten your furniture's fastenings regularly.
- You can also reduce graying by treating your wood surfaces with our Natixt© natural oil.
